I really loved this yarn, and was so hesitant to use it to make something I was unsure about, but I think I really like how it turned out. I think this is a pretty good representation of the color, it's one I kept going back to and petting in my LYS but couldn't figure out what to make with it. Eventually, the last time there was a sale there I just caved and bought 2 hanks. I'm glad I did.
I also have started to include the hooks that I use for each project in pictures since I've started like 3 or 4 different things in the past couple of weeks and don't want to forget which hook is being used for each project.
This time I used a Susan Bates M-13 (9mm) hook, the yarn I used was Malabrigo worsted in Vermillion, but the reason I used the big hook (besides the fact that I really like the color), is because I double stranded it. I used a stitch from 300 Crochet Stitches (The Harmony Guides, V. 6), and just crocheted it until I ran out of yarn :)
This one was super quick to make too. It seriously took me longer to find time to take the photos of it, than to actually make it. It probably took about 2 hours of afternoon vegging at my mom's while the kids and her played a Wii game and watched a little tv.
Another thing that I'm slightly annoyed about is that I'm in a bit of a funk still with making more dolls. I don't know why, I have a gazillion ideas, but for some reason that's just not translating into actually picking up yarn and making something. I feel so silly, but I'm also feeling like if I work on other things, then eventually I'll just pick up a hook and some yarn and make another doll.
Anyway, I know that's not the way I want to finish up this post, so I'll say that I went to my first NASCAR event this afternoon. It was definitely pretty exciting, though we didn't get to stay until the end, a good afternoon was had by all!
