Cinco de Mayo- Free Pattern Day
Hi everyone, for some reason I was composing posts all weekend long, and yet, none of them actually made it to the computer. Anyway, since the weekend always seems to fly by, and Mondays are always extra tiring with trying to reestablish my little one's schedules I'm giving away a free pattern.
It's the Happy Maracas pattern free to 5 people who leave a comment. On what you ask? Well, I'd like to know how you reestablish your weekday routines after a too short and too busy weekend? Give me some tips! If less than, or only 5 comments are left, then you all get lucky, otherwise, I'm going to go to a random number generator and choose the 5 that way. So Happy Cinco de Mayo people, and let's hear what you have to say!

Hi Mia, I love the maracas! I will have to whip a few sets up for my fellow co-workers. I love doing that, it makes them so happy. I ordered a couple more of your patterns, last night I think, and can't wait to get them started. As soon as I get some done I will post the pictures. Have a great day, Karen

Hi, those maracas are so cute, and would be great for so many different occasions.
As far re-establishing a weekday routine, it's kind of forced on us since my oldest daughter is in Kindergarten, and I don't really have a choice but to get into the groove and quickly. But usually I just make sure that the busy weekend ends *before* bathtime on Sunday night, and the bubble bath/brushing/books/bedtime all occur at their regular, non-rushed, leisurely pace. It might help to wake up 5 minutes earlier than usual on Monday mornings, too, just for yourself. So you can take a deep breath, take those extra minutes to do some exercises, brew a stronger cup of coffee or tea, or stay in the shower a bit longer. And then, roll on, rest of the week! You'll be ready.

All of your patterns are so cute!
As far as reestabishing a routine---I am not sure there is an easy way. Like most parents, I let her stay up 30 minutes to an hour later on Friday and Saturday nights. (I like having that little extra cuddle time with her). I also like the extra 30 to 45 minutes extra to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday mornings. But --yes-- Monday mornings nobody wants to get up. Like Michelle, we are just forced into the routine because of school. I do not think there is an easy way to get back into the routine.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo! I love your patterns :-)
Getting back into the swing of Monday things is such a nightmare. I like to try my best to keep the house tidy over the weekend so I'm not hit with a mess on Monday to clean, but that doesn't always work. I don't have kids, so the majority of my weekday routine means cleaning and cleaning. Monday I start in an easy part of the house (for me, the kitchen) and clean that up. I also do the easiest load of laundry - towels - no sorting, easy folding, and they all go in one place. Getting those things done eases me back into the rest of the cleaning and laundering I have to do the rest of the week.
Another great tip: flylady.com -- can't live without it!

Well, I dont know, I dont have too short and too busy weekends, well, they are short...
I dont think I have a real tip, just try to do as usual, and things will get in their foot steps again. (I hope you get what I mean, but I dont know how you say it in english)
Anyway, your maracas is very cute! And I hope I win! :D
At the moment Im working on Paz, as a mothers days gift for my mum, who loves angels. :)
Hope you have a great cinco del mayo! :D

Love your patterns!!! As a college student - it is very very hard to start up a new week after a "busy" weekend - My sundays are usually the day I get my life back in order - cleaning the kitchen - get things ready for monday - I also make sure to watch a movie or something while i clean/organize so i feel like i've had some down time.- Hope it helps! and Good Luck~!

Okay, since there's only six comments, I'm going to send the pattern to all six of you.
Thanks everyone!

Drats!! I came too late, well, never too late to tell you that I learned how to crochet just to do your amigurumis. I love them all!!!
And about how to start up a new week after a long weekend, well, I have no problems as I don't get a chance just to relax, my kids on the other hand just have to stand a lot of yelling and rush to get on time to everything and everywhere.

Oh my goodness they are so cute!
I visited late this week as I was busily blogging away myself.

I agree on fly lady. Remember to time yourself on the 15 minute thing, that way you don't feel as if all your are doing is cleaning.
Also, concentrate on a small area at a time, and to not do huge chunks. You will see progress. If you teach your kids the same principals, that goes a long way!
Another thing, is to have an area where the kids would leave school stuff and a place for them to empty the lunch kit and to place it so that it is ready to go for the next day.
