Thank you, thank you, thank you very much!

To everyone who volunteered, I really appreciate the response!  I've chosen 3 testers, it seems like a good sample and I'm hoping all is well with the blanket.  I'm hoping it'll be available for purchase on August 5th, and I'll definitely let you know when it's up in my etsy & Ravelry shops!

Thanks again!

Pattern testers please!

another angle

Okay, so I'm not listing the flower pattern for sale just yet.

Here's the deal- I'm really comfortable with the instructions for crocheting each petal, and the center.  What I'm not so comfortable with is the joining instructions.

I've written them out over an over again trying to make it easier to understand and I'm just not sure how many people will understand me.  I think the 2 testers that I use who live here near me and know me in real life know me a little too well.  I think they know what I mean even if I don't quite say it right, and I need some fresh eyes.

So what I'm looking for is this-

  1. Someone who is willing to be a pattern tester for me
  2. Someone who can do it in a little less than a week- by the evening of July 28th
  3. Someone who will actually do it, and not volunteer just to get a free pattern (sorry, it's happened before)
  4. Someone who can give me good feedback/suggestions
  5. Someone who doesn't need a bunch of pictures, I'll be including some of the joining stuff, but not all of the images that will be included in the final pattern.

I'll be accepting volunteer tester submissions in the comments for this post until tomorrow (7/22) morning 9 am Pacific Standard Time.

I don't know how many I'll accept, and I'll be weeding through them, not just choosing the first commenters (hopefully you can do this, and I'll get some volunteers).  If you have any questions, leave them in the comments too and I'll answer them there so that everyone can read them.  Also, if I can think of anything else that I need to add to my requirements, I'll be back for updates. :)

Really, thank you to anyone who can help me out with this, I really appreciate it!

::Edited to add::

The yarn called for in the pattern is worsted weight, the specific yarn that I used for this project is naturally caron Spa in rose bisque and green sheen.

I used an H/5.0 mm hook, specifically Clover Soft Touch.

I am going to extend the deadline that it needs to be done by slightly, I've changed it until August 2, 2008 which is in 12 days, instead of by the 28th of this month.

Any other questions?

Flower blanket- done at last!

finished flower blanket

Well, now all I need to do is type up the pattern :)

flower blanket in use

My daughter decided that she can't live without it, so it's her's.  It's good timing too since it'll be commemorating her weaning. The above picture is to show scale, it ended up being around 45 inches across, and I used around 3 1/2 skeins of the pink yarn and 1/2 a skein of the green.

Here's hoping that the pattern is done by tonight, I have some running around to do today and the above little girl somehow woke up with a cold this morning so it's going to be a long day.

look what's come in the mail! (and a flower blanket pattern update)

Almost everything in this post, save the flower blanket :)

New Clover Soft Touch Steel Crochet Hooks

I ordered some new steel hooks, I'm hoping this will be the impetus needed to get started on some doily things for my mom's Christmas gift.

Sublime Stitching Sexy Librarians pattern

Then the lovely Sublime Stitching Sexy Librarians embroidery pattern, oh, and secretaries, I keep forgetting the part about the secretaries...

Ravelry organic veggie bag

Then the organic veggie tote from Ravelry that I've been coveting, and was so lucky that I checked on Sunday when it was in stock and that I had the paypal funds to swoop it up!

Flower Blanket- almost done

Finally, here's more progress on the flower blanket, I'm planning on the pattern being done by the end of the week.  Not like I have that many days until it's over ;) but really, if I can get off the computer and get to it, it may be finished up tonight since now I only have 1 petal to connect & then a quick go-round the border and voila! it'll be done!

a big head for my little girl's big head

I'm not sure about the eyes

My little girl is having a difficult time giving up nursing.  We're trying to make it as pleasant and comfortable a transition as possible for her.    I'm therefore creating a little girl for her to take to bed with her instead of me, I'm really hoping that it will be an effective substitute.  *insert eye roll* whose fooling who, really?  I'm just really hoping that it'll work as a tiny distraction and we'll start sleeping better again by the end of this month :)

This is also maybe one of the patterns that I'm coming up with.  I'm up in the air about the eyes, and I'm not liking the hair so much... I'm not that concerned about it since this is my little beta girl and since the hair in my actual drawing is so much better, but in the tracing process I apparently drew some really funky lines.  At least my stitching is getting more uniform. :)

Well how's that for a long title?

So I have a couple of embroidery books that I've listed.  I'm finding out that while they're lovely and full of inspiration, I don't necessarily want to make anything from them.  I'm coming to the realization that I much prefer coming up with my own little drawings, especially since most of what I make is for my little ones anyway.

I just think the bug embroidery is "bee"youtiful! Can you tell I'm tired?  I do think it's lovely though.  And I'm nowhere near close to a bug fan in the first place.  If you'd like, you can click on the images to get to the photos at flickr and really see the detail nice and big.

I really like this one, of course I don't really have a book that I don't like because I usually am the only one doing the buying :)  How pretty is this redwork alphabet, I'm silly about liking fonts based on the M's, but I really like this one, the Z is really nice too.  Below is an example of what the actual pattern looks like, these are some pretty fun borders.

Anyway, I"m off to bed, we have a busy day with my little guy deciding if he's ready for vacation bible school!

Japanese Craft Books- Listed today

So....I'd planned on being on top of things and having all my books listed by noon Pacific Standard Time.  Umm, it didn't happen.  I have 3 listed.  I'm so embarrassed. :o

I'll be uploading all the rest of the 10 books today, and hopefully all of them can be finished and then a group release at 5 pm Pacific Standard Time over at my etsy shop Owlishly.

I don't know why I don't just accept that having my little maniacs around seriously hamper plans big time!

another update- Japanese craft books

So it's silly for me to be up this late, but I wanted to get these uploaded before tomorrow morning, or this morning actually.  Anyway, I'll try to get images from books up individually, but for now, if you want to see the rest of the books that I'm listing at noon PST, you can check out my recent uploads over at Flickr

G'night!
